एका माणसाची अनेक नवे असतात व एका नावाची अनेक माणसे असतात. शब्दांचेपण अगदी तसेच आहे! एका शब्दाचे अनेक अर्थ असतात आणि एका अर्थाचे अनेक शब्द असू शकतात. केवळ शब्दार्थ मांडण्यापेक्षा मराठी शब्दसमूहाचा भावार्थ व्यक्त करणारे काही निवडक इंग्रजी शब्द ह्या शब्दमालेत दिलेले आहेत. प्रत्येकी दहा शब्दांचा (words, phrase or idiom) समावेश असलेल्या मराठी-इंग्रजी शब्दमालेचा हा भाग -21 .

▪ खास, मुद्दाम = expressly
I have come expressly to congratulate you. मी खास तुझे अभिनंदन करण्याकरीता आलेलो आहे.

▪ अडकून पड्लेल्याची सुटका करणे = to extricate

▪ उपहासात्मक निंदा = derision

▪ अलंकारिक सौंदर्य = lapidary
The lapidary splendor of Mugal-e-azam is best enjoyed on the big screen only. मुगल-ए-आझमच्या अलंकारिक सौंदर्याचे आस्वादन करावे तर ते मोठ्या पडद्यावरच.

▪ मंदबुद्धी = dullard
"Don't you know in which state Shrinagar is? You are even more dullard than Rahul Gandhi." श्रीनगर कुठल्या राज्यात आहे एवढंपण तुला माहित नाही? तू तर राहुल गांधींपेक्षाही जास्त मंदबुद्धी आहेस ."
